Where I work

See the rainbow?  This is driving in.  I work on the left.  The ocean is off to the right.

Across the street from where I work.  That is a sand volleyball court.

This is a little further around the corner.
This is where I work.  The blues of the ocean didn't quite come out.  But it is very, very blue.  I don't go outside much at work because... I'm working.  And it's really hot in uniform.  Where I work is awesome.  Not because of anything but the people.  You really get attached to people when you are out here with them all the time.  There isn't really anywhere else to go and you get to know them.  When they succeed, you succeed, when they are sad, you are sad.  For example, one of my co-workers mother died this weekend unexpectedly.  I found out on facebook and was so sad for him.  Another one of my co-workers adopted a puppy.  I was happy for him.  So that's how it goes.  Work is challenging.  There is a lot to do all of the time, but it is also good.  I'm looking forward to finally getting a paralegal in May.  That will reduce the workload on me.  But until then, I am doing two people's jobs.  All in all, I go back to our theme song posted in an earlier post, "Everything is Awesome!"

Boiling Tin

And this is what it looks like when it's hot!

Relief Society Christmas Activity

How everything got started.  Note, if any other people try this, use more carboard.  We had tin melting to the tables and carpet.  That stuff doesn't come out.

The set up.  I picked up the fruit tray and it leaked all over my car and refridgerator.

The waffle bar set up before everything broke.

Toppings galore!

What we were making.

Talbe center pieces.  The green cards were supposed to be the spiritual activity part, but we never got to that.

Melting the tin into a terminator.

My waffle.

The hot chocolate I made for myself after making everyone waffles.

Making the ornaments.  You pour the terminator in the mold and tap it so the air bubbles get out.  Then you just take it apart and you're done.

This is how terminators are born...
Our Relief Society activity was Dec. 3.  It was fun.  We had a waffle bar (don't "waffle" in your testimony), and then we made tin ornaments/ nativity scenes.  It was fun.  The melted tin looked like a terminator from Terminator 2.  It was kind of awesome.  The plan was to have everyone come in, eat, do the spiritual activity, and then spend the rest of the time making tin ornaments.  But this is Guam and everything falls apart, so people came in and none of the outlets in the gym worked.  So the RS presidency (me included) took the waffle makers to the primary room to make everyone waffles.  Everyone else worked on tin ornaments.  They did that for the whole time and we never got to the spiritual activity.  Oh well, they had fun and the waffles were good.  It is a small ward here, though, so only 16 people showed up.

The Octopus

This might be upside down.  But when I signed up for dive classes, I saw this octopus in a fish tank and he (she?) was very excited to crawl all around.  So I took a quick video.  I am learning to scuba dive Dec 21-23.  So stay tuned for those pictures.  In the meantime, enjoy the Octopus.  What should the Octopus' name be?
